Last July 21, 2011, Belgium celebrated their national holiday and 181st anniversary of independence. It was celebrated with the traditional military parade in front of the royal palace in Brussels. Members of the royal family were in full attendance. His Majesty King Albert II of Belgium, his wife, Queen Paola, his successor and eldest son, Prince Phillippe, the Duke of Brabant, Phillippe's wife, Princess Mathilde and the dowager Queen Consort, Queen Paola.
